EQUIPMENT
At LP2CD Solutions, Inc. we use top of the line equipment and software
to ensure that the end result provided will be of 100% customer
satisfaction. None of this would be possible without this. Listed below
are just some of the state-of-the-art products used to help bring your
audio media to the digital age.
Bang & Olufsen’s Beogram 8000 Turntable
Bang & Olufsen are known around the world as one of the leading
producers of state-of-the-art audio equipment. They launched the
world's first record player with an electronically controlled
tangential arm. Our company uses Bang & Olufsen’s, Beogram 8000
which was a part of their third generation of tangential arm decks. The
special benefit of the tangential arm is that it helps to secure the
most authentic reproduction of sound from records because it tracks the
vinyl in the same way they were cut.
Tangential Drive system
was developed to secure a constant accurate rotary speed. It
incorporates a quartz-controlled electronic flywheel, similar to the
system used in electricity meters. Like your domestic meter, the system
is highly reliable and extremely accurate. It works all day, everyday,
and never needs repair. You never need to make corrections in the
Beogram's rotary speed. A digital display keeps you informed of speed
during play. Because the conventional motor has been discarded, there
were no motor vibrations to distort the sound. A unique pendulum
suspension system prevented external shocks and vibrations from
affecting sound reproduction.
Soundsmith line contact
diamond stylus (Needle)
Our Beogram 8000 is fitted with the widely acclaimed Sound Smith SMMC
20 CL pickup cartridge which cost a hefty $400. This top of the line
cartridge guarantees excellent tracking and minimum record wear, thanks
to its low effective tip mass and optimum groove contact.
A stylus brush, mounted inside the tangential arm compartment, keeps
the diamond free from dust and micro-particles, thereby enhancing the
gentle treatment of records.
HW17 Record Cleaner
The HW17 is VPI's automatic, state-of-the-art vacuum cleaning solution
for both old and new vinyl. This machine was designed to be used hour
after hour cleaning large batches of vinyl without a break, and as such
the motors are of the very highest quality with integral fan cooling,
ensuring a long working life.
The principle of a vacuum machine is simple. The record is placed on
the platter, the cleaning solution is applied to the surface of the
record which is then worked into the grooves. This solution is crucial
as it becomes an effective degreasing agent to remove grease which
binds detritus to the surface of the vinyl without harming the long
term stability of the vinyl itself. The cleaning solution holds the
dirt which then is completely removed from the vinyl by vacuum.
This critically acclaimed machine is standard equipment in record
libraries such as the US Library of Congress, and is undoubtedly one of
the finest record cleaning machines in the world. That is why we here
at LP2CD Solutions, Inc. use the HW17 to clean our customer’s vinyl.
LUXMAN KX-102 TAPE DECK
Formed in 1925, the Japanese company, LUXMAN evolved into an
engineering audio firm known to produce the finest audio equipment
technology allowed.
Our Luxman KX-102 Tape deck features the Famed Duo-Beta amp circuitry
in combination with DBX which provides dramatic improvement of sound
quality along with wider dynamic range and excellent S/N ratio. The
KX-102 has the special feature of CTS (Computer Tuning System) to
automatically provide optimum tuning of bias, BQ and tape-referenced
recording level to any tape given.
There was no such words as adequate in the LUXMAN vocabulary. Not in
engineering, design, production, quality control or any other area
which might affect the LUXMAN product or reputation. "The absolute
best" – that was the sum of LUXMAN's outlook when it came to producing
the finest audio equipment technology allowed.
The Audiolab 8000Q
The Audiolab 8000Q preamplifier produces a magnificently natural and
open sound with superb resolution of detail and dynamics that aids us
in the restoration process. The sound produced by the Audiolab 8000 Q
is so pure that it allows us to make sure that nothing is added nor
taken away from the original sound recording.
All signals are switched with high quality small signal relays and the
volume control is a motorized potentiometer. Both were chosen in
preference to any electronic devices which would have introduced
unacceptable coloration. The mechanical design and printed circuit
layout are optimized to keep all signal path as short as possible.
Audiophile
2496 sound card
The Audiophile 2496 sound card we use embodies a quantum leap in
computer audio fidelity and performance unequalled by other audio
cards. This critically acclaimed PCI card features premium digital
audio converters and ultra-stable drivers ensuring seamless integration
and rock-solid performance.
DBX 4BX - Multi-band
expander with Logicontrol system
Two words, Impact restoration. The DBX 4BX is the only sound processor
in the world with this capability. Musical recordings never sound
exactly like
live performances for several reasons. And this is DBX's raison d'etre.
We can restore the impact of a live performance with the 4BX.
Here's how it works: when a high-level signal
suddenly follows a low-level one, the difference in level is expanded.
In this way, transient musical attacks, from percussion to brass to
piano, are emphasized. The result is an exciting impact which
approximates that of a live performance.
The 4BX is also a three-band dynamic-range expander. It can make loud
passages louder and soft passages softer - in total, increase dynamic
range by up to 50%. Expansion is displayed on the front panel by LED's.
Since
high frequencies, mid frequencies and low frequencies are processed
independently, the result is extremely smooth with all types of music.
It's not recomended for spoken word recordings.
Dynamic-range expansion also has an important side benefit: up to about
20 dB of noise reduction.
