These are examples of Pink Floyd live. Notice in the after that the quiet part is quieter and the loud part is louder, that's dynamic range expansion. Also, notice a more startling punch at the loud part, that's impact restoration. POW!

This is a more dramatic example of levels 1, 2, 3, & 4. Legion 88  recorded in a  Parisian  back alley.  It is a  primitive  recording, recorded with a primitive tape recorder and a bootleg LP was made of it.  There are clicks, crackle & lots of tape hiss that was removed. Extreme 4bx settings were used along with: low shelf, tube saturation, quasi stereo, harmonic exciter & parametric eq for sound enhancement.

Beulah's son ken is on vocals and the rest of her children add accompaniment. It was her last wish before passing on that it be converted to CD for all the world to hear. There's high speed internet in heaven too, I'm sure.

Come to The Alter of Prayer:

Check this out jazz fans!  The Bob James Trio at the 1962 Notre Dame Collegiate Jazz Festival. This was Bob's big break. One of the of judges -Quincy Jones- recognized his improvisational talent and the rest is history.
