Will You
Transfer and Restore My Tape From an LP I recorded?
*Please note*, only store-bought
tapes of commercially released recordings will be transferred and
restored. This means homemade tapes and CD's made from store-bought
LP's will not be transferred and restored. This rule does NOT include
your precious, original homemade cassette recordings of family members
and related voice and music.

Is it possible to remove clicks and cackle from
cassette tapes?
Yes,
only if the recording was made and played on good, well maintained
equipment, meaning: decent
stylus (needle), cleaned and de-magnetized tape deck heads,using a
cassette deck that can be set to CrO2 (type ll) and metal (type lV),
recorded onto a type ll cassette (CrO2) or type lV metal cassette. To date, I have not been able to
remove most clicks and crackle from any type I normal cassette (Fe203)

Can't Be Restored?
We can't restore
male baritone solo accapella recordings, or audio with a kazoo in it
whereas the original scource of this material is from a Vinyl LP. With
skips, the best we can do is cut the music to eliminate the gap in the
sound file.

Can you seperate the tracks on a live recording?
Yes,
we can seperate the tracks on your live recording. Our track splitting
is seamless and done manually. I'll go where no one else will go, and
that's down to the sample level to lay the beginning of one track right
on top of the ending of the previous track so that when you play the CD
in it's entirety you will not notice the track change unless you watch
the track counter on your player..

Didn't you used to have a Cedar Declicker in your
arsenal?
Yes
we did and It didn't compliment the other restoration programs at all.
In fact, it created a great many artifacts that took a tremendous
amount of time to remove manually. The grouping of Algorithmix
ScratchFree Pro, TC Electronic Powercore Restoration Suite, Waves
Restoration Bundle, Sonic Foundry noise reduction 2.0, the
"Younglove Trick", manual click removal and final artifact elimination

What does the proper care of CD's mean?
The
single most important thing you can do to ensure long life for the data
on your CD is: Do Not Store It
Exposed To Any Direct Ultraviolet Light Scource. Sunlight And
Fluorescent Lighting (Which Includes Blacklights) Are The 2 Main
Scources Of Ultraviolet Light That Must Be Avoided During Storage.

to me?

What Is Your
Return Policy?
One Time Only,
for a period of 35 days after notification to you that your CD's have
shipped, you notify us the need for adjustment to the level 2 sound
enhancement that was applied to your CD, we will make and send you
another CD to your new specifications. You must send the original CD we
made for you back to us before a new one is made and sent back to you.
If applicable, a new label will be applied. A small before and after
example of the sound from the 1st CD and the new CD will be e-mailed to
you before the new one ships.

Restoration Terms:

AArtifacts:
Residual effects left over from the de-clicking process in the form of
"ghost pops" or "hollow
pops."
Broadband
Noise: Tape hiss, 60 Hz hum, and leftover noise from the
restoration process.
Dynamic
Range Expansion/Impact Restoration: Hardware that creates a
fuller and superior sound to your music. Not recomended for spoken word
recordings.
5-De’s (in
the order of when each process is done)
1. De-scratch:
very long scratches on vinyl which result in super loud clicks. Usually
longest in time duration ( 7 thousandths of a second or more).
2. De-click:
loud clicks which are a result
from light scratches on the vinyl. These are shorter in time duration
(less
than 7
thousandths of a second).
3. De-crackle:
small, barely measurable hair-line clicks; the sound you commonly hear
when you place the needle at the beginning of
the record and is usually heard throughout the entire record.
4. De-noise:
broadband noise/tape hiss.
5. De-hum:
ground loop. Background humming sound found on old vinyl, usually from
original engineering problems.
Manual
Declick And Artifact Removal:
This will repair clicks, artifacts, and inherent vinyl
flaws the automatic software could not remove. This entails monitoring
your music file and stopping at every artifact and anomaly along the
way to repair it using the Algorithmix reNOVAtor. If the reNOVAtor
could not repair it then it will be manually cut out, but only if
it
does not harm the music. If cutting changes the music in any way,
shape, or form, they will be left in.
De-ess:
the process of removing a sound called a vocal sibilant. This can be
described as the sound produced by ripping a sheet of paper and is
commonly produced when a vocalist sings S's and T's. De-essing brings
such sounds down to a more listenable level.

The screenshot above is
a dull pop that no software or hardware even using brutally high
settings that I would never
set

any restoration software in can remove. the "Younglove Trick"
could not remove it either. I even tried inverting the
waveform to make it spike upwards and it still could not repair it.
This one was removed manually. The downwards spike
and immediately before and after constitute the offending pop. It is
.002 sec, (2 thousandths of a second)

manually cut from the wave form. There
was more cut after the offending spike than before because the
pop sound trails off a little. The area
being cut is .007 sec. ( 7 thousandths of a second)

EXAMPLE 2: CLASSIC CLICK
This is a
standard, run of the mill click. It's about .002 sec in time duration.
It's one the Cedar DCX Declicker
missed. Even though it
missed this one, the
Cedar DCX Declicker changed the genetic make up of the click to
the extent where no other software programs could repair it
automatically. It was removed manually, along with the
Cedar DCX Declicker.
EXAMPLE 3: SWITCH NOISE
This here
is something we find while manually removing artifacts etc... This is a
switching noise of some sort. It could be from either a switch for the
Guitar pick-up, guitar amplifier, an object hitting the electric
guitars pick-up or an inherent flaw in the LP itself, due to the
widespread use of recycled vinyl that common LP's were pressed on
during the 70's & 80's. The area where the arrow is
pointing is about .004 sec in duration. .010 sec (ten
thousandths) had to be cut to eliminate this noise. That is the
upper time limits of manual removal. Anything cut longer in time
duration will probably noticeably alter the music. In that case, only
the area where the arrow is will be cut. This will cut down the
offending noise alot but not alter the music.
